Statistical Map

A statistical map is one in which the variation in the quantity of a factor, such as percent of rainfall within different geographic areas, is displayed. The three main types of statistical maps are choropleth maps, proportional symbol maps, and dot maps. This is a statistical map showing the mean travel of time to work in 2003. States with the longest travel time are shown in green, those with the shortest times are portrayed in red.
